ABOUT SITI NURHALIZA

Siti Nurhaliza, born in Pahang, is that one artiste in a million who, like the late Tan Sri P. Ramlee, Saloma and Sudirman, comes into the country's music scene once in a few decades, and wows everyone, young and old with exquisite voice, songs and performances.
Siti Nurhaliza was born on the 11th January 1979, in Kampung Awah inTemerloh, Pahang. She is the third of seven siblings in her family (or, if counting a sibling who died after birth, she would be the fourth of eight siblings)
Siti Nurhaliza or sometimes affectionately shortened to Siti or CT by her ardent fans, was born to Tarudin bin Ismail and Siti Salmah binti Bachik at the police barrack of Kampung Awah, Temerloh. She was received into this world by the Kampung Awah goverment clinic midwife, Selamah binti Bidin.
Her family moved to Kuala Lipis when she was a small child following her father's job transfer, and the family has been living there ever since. Her family residence is located at Taman Permata in Sungai Kerpan, Kuala Lipis, Pahang.
The story goes that Siti had fans even when she came to this world, as it was related that there were unusually many folks who came to see her when she was born in the barracks at Kampung Awah. It must have been a favorable omen of her future.
Because two decades later, she has thousands of fans not only in Malaysia but also in Indonesia, Singapore and Brunei.
And she holds the record of being the Malaysian artist with the most number of awards received since she started singing in 1995.
The Guiness Book of Records awarded to her in 2001 (for the most number of awards received by a Malaysian artiste) was for 52 awards.
But she now has received more than double that awards figure. Surely with more awards forthcoming, it will be a record hard to beat.
Siti Norhaliza is the second Malaysian singer, (the first being Sudirman Haji Arshad) who had the privilege to sing at the prestigious and famed Royal Albert Hall in London.
"Siti Nurhaliza in Concert" held at the Royal Albert Hall in early April 2005, saw Siti singing 30 of her songs in the three hour program. It was a culmination perhaps but really also a recognition and summation of her ten years of great and delightful singing presen
